What's Stopping You?

During the process of achieving your career goals you will probably face some roadblocks. To continue with your plans, you will need to prepare for the expected obstacles and decide how to face the challenge of the unexpected. Many students come to university with a career goal in mind, but quickly decide that that career no longer appeals or is possible for them.

Western has many services to help students with a wide variety of needs. If you identify with and are concerned about any of these obstacles, you may want to access the resources available to you.

As you plan your career, thinking about the obstacles you may face will help you to deal with them if and when they arise. Also, consider who will be there to support and help you as you face these challenges. Supportive family, friends and colleagues make the obstacles much more surmountable.

Career planning will be easier if you have begun to identify your challenges and ways to face and overcome them.
