Full time student status with a high school diploma in progress.
Completed a minimum of 22 credits.
Completed one or more Grade 12 U or M level credits and have a minimum overall 80% in grades 10 and above or have not completed any Grade 12 U or M level credits, but have a minimum overall 85% average in Grades 10 and above.
Registered in sufficient courses to fulfill admission requirements of the University.
Been nominated by the Principal or Guidance Counsellor of the secondary school.
Students in their fifth year of high-school studies will be considered for the WISE program. However, spaces are limited, and preference will be given to students registered in grade 11 and 12.

WISE Application Checklist
Please review the application information listed below. It contains instructions to save you time and ensure the Scholars' Programs Office receives all the information needed to assess you for this exceptional opportunity.
Read the WISE application requirements and ensure you are eligible for the program and have all the necessary application information available for input.
Access your most recent high school grade report and enter all your grade 11 or 12 M/U high school credits with your final grades on the online application.
You must complete the form in full - remember the application will not save any of your data unless you complete the entire form fully.
You must then submit your a copy of your final high school transcript via email, fax,or regular mail for verification.
Review the first year course listing and timetable - ensure you have the high school prerequisite for the Western courses of your choice (you should select a minimum of two courses). Also ensure the course time works with your high school and life schedules.
Begin to plan for your WISE Summer Academic Orientation Appointment and confirm attendance with the Coordinator.
Prepare for your WISE Summer Academic Orientation Appointment: reconfirm course choices, ensure you have government issued photo Identification to have your Western ONE card printed (student card), and organize transportation to Western for your WISE appointment.
***If you are completing the WISE application and do not have all of your final grades, please note that you are permitted to provide your midterm grades instead. Final decisions regarding acceptance to the program will be communicated to students once official final transcripts have been received in the summer***
